One of my rituals for each new year is to choose a word to influence me for the year. My word for 2011 is EXPERIMENT. To support my EXPERIMENTAL focus, I commit to post the results of a new experiment each Sunday of this year.
As I mentioned in April, orange is my least favorite color in the universe. Imagine my chagrin (isn’t THAT a cool word?) when I was surfing for info on ‘awareness ribbons’ and found out that the MS ribbon is – you guessed it – ORANGE.
Granted, I’m not the most intuitive person, but hey, even I knew this might be a sign for me. So this week I embraced my inner orange.
Over the course of the week I:
- ate something orange every day (candy corn; butternut squash, Cheetos, an orange, cantelope, carrots and a baked sweet potato);
- bought an ORANGE Chrysanthemum AND a pumpkin (AND put them in front of my home, even!); and
- used the ENERGY BOOST Aromatherapy roller my pal Jo gave me (THANKS AGAIN, Jo!).
As I type this post, I’m drinking from the mug that’s pictured above (and was a gift from my pal Robin, THANKS AGAIN Robin!).
Yep, this week, I’ve been all about orange.
It’s still not my preference, but hey, Life is about learning to roll with it, eh?
ORANGE you going to tell me how YOU roll with it?
